My things were handled nicely and I was treated with respect, however I am single person in a one bedroom apartment moving to another single bedroom apartment. They took 4 and a half hours and the whole ordeal cost me over $600, I really couldn't afford for them to take that long. People who have used your company before were very shocked that it took so long and added up to be so much.
We had very minimal items to move (large pieces like our couches, refrigerators and washer/dryer) and we’re less than 6 miles between houses. It took workers 3+ hours to move and they worked extremely slow. This should have easily been a 1-2 hour job. They showed up almost an hour later than I was told on the “30 minute call ahead” and it was obvious that they knew that it was a small job and worked very slow. Workers used our restroom without asking in the house they packed up as I was being charged by the hour ($119) and left evidence of bowel movements that we had to clean. Used restroom again in new home which they asked if they could do, again while we were still being charged by the hour. It’s unacceptale that I should have to pay an hourly rate for a man crew while they are spending time in our restrooms. Our 2 year old refrigerator was not working when we plugged it in and we had to purchase a new refrigerator. I’m not sure if it was related to the move but the refrigerator was drug through our front yard on a dolley because they parked in front of the driveway and couldn’t use the driveway to get it to the street. Also because they parked in front of the driveway they had to put my tool box on a dolley and drag it through the front yard. All of my tools were completely scattered in my toolbox because of this. We were extremely disappointed in the service we received for the price we paid. We will never use AB again nor recommend them to anyone.
AB could improve on handling boxes labeled fragile with a little more care.
A few of my items were damaged. A hole in a wall of my newly built home, offered men water they left empty bottles all over the old house. When leaving they loaded our empty trash can with their empty containers, and left a large amount of plastic furniture wrap in our new garage for us to dispose of. Waiting for any response after speaking with I think a manager.
Little more care with things that you don’t know they break or not. But your moving things going happen so not unhappy about at all.
We have used AB Moving for one of our other moves and were pleased. However, with this particular move, we were displeased. First, it took the movers over an hour to get from Irving to Grand Prairie. By the time they got to Grand Prairie, my Chester (along with a few other items) also were broken. Lastly, we felt we were overcharged for our move. So we won’t be using this company anymore.
It was a disorganized circus both in scheduling and the actual move.
The crew chief was diligent and wrapped everything as his other two crew members moved most of the households items. They left a lot of items in the closets and even placed items back in the closets. I should have done a more thorough walk through when they claimed to be done. The two workers also broke my printer/copier and didn’t tell me unlike the torch lamp the crew chief broke but told me about. I’ve never seen movers use hand trucks to move a wardrobe w clothes. Seems like a lazy move when it is much more efficient to carry it. I moved furniture for 6 yrs in college, so I know what the job is. Because I use to be a mover, I still tipped them but was not happy to do it.
Nothing I can think of
The dispatch may want to verify addresses and start time day before or morning of to make sure everything is correct.
This move took 5 hours...the exact same move 2 years ago took 3. These guys were beyond slow. The crew lead loaded 75% on his own. I did have a stop to drop off a bed. I feel it's appropriate that AB moving refund me 1 hr of the cost.
They were very slow, dishonest, and broke a few items.
I have always been satisfied.
Using notes to label certain items would help. We had six movers from AB to do our move. I informed the team leader about how to move my desk (it needed to be lifted from the bottom, not the desk top). I don't know if he forgot or if he didn't get to talk to the guys who actually moved the desk, but it was lifted from the top and separated from the body of the desk. I will have to make a claim on it as the desk is damaged.
Sorry, but I think I had a slow team of men. It took them over 6 hours to move me 2 blocks away. I spent almost $1k on this move. They wrapped items that didn't need to be wrapped and spent too much time on that. They also boxed up items I told them not too. The excessive wrapping caused alot of delay. I was just disappointed to have spent this much.
suggestions
They broke my headboard. Quality of movers wasn't great. Front desk didn't have urgency in resolving the issue.
